 Hoodie, petticoat: Ebay
Corset: Frederick's of hollywood
Tights: Claire's

In case you had any doubt that I loved pink, here's a flashback to one of my weekend outfits when I was 19.  My campus had Fridays off, so  walking around after Friday was like being in a ghost town. We didn't have a car, so we had to make the most of it.

Standing across from my crappy dorm here.  I kind of look like Simba.  Ignore my eyeliner.  I was a braver girl back then, and still got tired of my face/hair/clothes and that resulted in disastrous makeup and styling.  I also had bangs for way too long, but that's another post.  This was also years before I was able to wear my hair down and be a regular person.  Flat hair destroys my spirit.

Here I am, fake-falling or something on one of the hundreds of staircases around my school.  This school was not leg, or high-heels friendly as it had several steep hills and steep staircases.  I always imagined tripping on a rock and then rolling to my death.  If the hill didn't kill me, the cars at the bottom would finish the job.
We found some random desks and decided they were prime photo props.  Mind you, this was around Myspace times, so I was probably trying to get a cool profile picture.  You know how it goes.

And a shot of my petticoat for faux-artistic reasons:

Top, skirt: Forever 21
Purse: Bodyline

This was for New Year's Eve, a couple of years ago.  I always liked to show up at my boyfriend's house dressed up, even though I was the only one.  I still have this headband and I still have no idea how to wear it.  Now that my hair is dark, it might look like some weird cowlick to others from far away.

It's weird to me how droopy my face looks just with pink hair and bangs.  I still find random pink strands in some of my clothes.

 Shrug: Guess (resale shop)
Top: Walmart
Leg warmers: Claire's

I was 19 here and 13 lbs lighter, and in my first year of university.  Look at how young I look!  This was one of my favorite outfits and one of my calmer ones.  Towards the middle of the year, I started wearing a hoodie everyday and only dressed up on the weekends when my boyfriend came to visit.  Most of this stuff was from discount/resale shops and some hand-me-downs.  This top gave me major cleavage, so I usually safety-pinned it.  I went through an obsession with pinning down things because it would get ridiculously windy in this town and the following college town.

Oh, and I had a manicure at the time! My one and only, paid for by my future mother-in-law.  I had to trim off two nails so I could put on my contact lenses without poking my eyes out.

I started dyeing my hair when I was 18.  It was supposed to be a lovely shade of neon pink, but it started off as red because my hair was still too orange.  I was a big fashion disaster from ages 14-23.  I still mess up from time to time, but I had so much fun back then.  I had the type of courage that only young people have.  I didn't care what people thought about me because I thought I looked pretty cool.  And then slowly, I started caring too much.

It's amazing what people will say to you when they don't like the way you look.  As if you exist to please them.  As if you leave your house or your apartment wanting random strangers telling you how to live your life to avoid disturbing them.

I couldn't even tell you the brands of my clothes.  I did all my shopping at my favorite discount clothing store.

While I regret most of my fashion choices and cringe at most of my pictures, I can still find little moments when I remember how I felt then.  This was one of my favorite outfits.  It was perfect that day even if it wasn't at other times.
